Right back to it.

You can wait can't you?
I've started a new long strip. You know the sort of thing. 50ish pages.
It's in the writing stage at the moment.
If you recall Cumly Bay was my experiment in making it up as I go. Some great stuff came out of it, but the unplanedness of it led to it wandering around too much for my liking.
I like it when stuff feels like it was made up as I went along like maybe Un-bound, but it's better if it's actually secretly not.

I'm thinking of changing format too.
Usually, mostly, it's on a 9 panel (3x3) grid. Drawn A4 which means it's easy to take anywhere, draw anywhere. but I'm probably going to go to A3 by drawing half pages (A4 landscape) which would give me an 8 or 12 panel grid (4X2 or 3).

It looks set to be Spleenals strangest adventure yet.

I get invested

It my own fault. I get excited. I get invested. I get disappointed.
I thought my stuff was a shoe in for Mark Millar's (kickass) new magazine Clint. Which wanted sci-fi, humour, and/or horror strips.
I now have no idea why, but the other week I was so sure.
Why was I so sure? No, it's gone. I've got no clue anymore...

These were the winners...
Emergency Pit-Stop by Mateus Santolouco page 2
The Fall of the Fortress by Bruno Leazia page 3
Treasure by Stephen Baskerville page 6
Loop by Percy Guiterez page 11
The Diner by Manuel Bracchi page 12

I'm on pages 7 9 and 11 but you know what I stuck up there, because I put it up here too. There was a couple of pages of new stuff and a couple of re-hashes of old "classic strips"

The main difference I can see between the winning stuff and my stuff is that my stuffs funnier and my people don't look like people. Humm, I'm not going to change. I'm pretty sure that if I remain the same, the entire world will change around me.

So forgive my current malaise, but following the excitement and the investedness comes a feeling of "Aw fuck it, what's the fuckin' point?"

I'll be back doing what I do in a few days I should think.

The weighted companion cube is sick of your shit.

If you get this then this is probably just for you.
